A Different Journey Weekend

Offering hope when you've been widowed at a young age.

When you marry and say "’til death do us part", you expect that day to be in the far, distant future. But when that day happens early in life, it is the most devastating and painful time imaginable.

It can be a struggle to cope alone, as you try to come to terms with your lost hopes and dreams for the future, and it can be hard to find the strength to go on. As well as working through your grief, if you have children, you'll be aware of the added responsibility of parenting alone, in addition to all the practical concerns regarding home and family that you would once have shared.

Our hope is that many will find special comfort and affinity with others who have faced a similar situation. The weekend is not prescriptive. There will be no situation where you will feel pressured to talk if you don’t want to, and there will be opportunities to talk to others about your experience if you so choose.

Dealing with emotions present in grief
New relationships?
Helping children with their grief
Issues men face
Issues women face

Joy and Bob Jones co-ordinate 'A Different Journey' together. They were both bereaved during the early years of their first marriages. Joy works with Cruse Bereavement Care as a counsellor.

Price: £125.00 per person.
The price includes accommodation, all meals, and refreshments from Friday evening through to after lunch on Sunday.
