There are 6,800 children waiting for adoption in the UK… can you and your church be their home?

There are 6,800 children waiting to be adopted in the UK and 8,750 more foster families are needed. That's thousands of the most vulnerable children in our society who have nowhere to call home. But if every church in the UK decided they could find someone to adopt or foster a child, then we'd make a huge difference.

Are you involved in or concerned about adoption and fostering, either personally or professionally? Are you interested in thinking about what we can do, as individuals and churches?

Care for the Family, in association with the Evangelical Alliance, is exploring what the needs are in this area, and how can we all play a part in creating a home for children in need.

Register your interest now, and we'll keep you informed over the coming months.

A child at a picnic

There are 12,000 children waiting to be adopted or fostered in the UK. Every child has a tale to tell, and it usually involves a lot of pain and uncertainty. We realised that if every church in the UK could find someone to adopt or foster a child, then we'd make a huge difference.

We know that many Christians are already adopting and fostering and that many are involved in the care system itself. We honour these people and the great work they do. And we want to gather your views, experiences and stories to help us take this exciting idea and make it one that will work.

Imagine if someone from every church did foster or adopt. Imagine if that person was supported by the whole church, in prayer and in the practical business of looking after kids - just think what a difference it would make to the youngsters and to the church.

We know there are obstacles and people have questions. We don't pretend that fostering or adopting a young person with difficulties is easy or for everyone. But is a possibility for every church. So please come and help us work out how we can create Home for young people who need us.
