Welcome to the Bereaved Parents' Network
We would like to welcome you to the home page of Care for the Family’s Bereaved Parents’ Network. More than anything, we want you to know that you’re not on your own. So whether you’re looking for help for you, your family, friends, church members, or simply information about the Network, we sincerely hope you find support and encouragement here.
Why we’re involved in the Bereaved Parents’ Network
We always thought that the death of a child was one of those tragic things that only happens to ‘other people’. But then our son Philip died at the age of seven. We discovered our lives would never be the same again. The nightmare had happened to us.
What helped us most was talking to other parents whose child had died, but who were surviving. And we were able to do this through the Bereaved Parents’ Network. We discovered that there is hope – it is possible to survive.
You may wonder if life can ever be ‘normal’ again after the loss of a child. We want to offer support to those involved and give bereaved parents the opportunity to connect with others who understand the pain of losing a son or daughter. The Bereaved Parents’ Network is here to help you find hope, healing, peace, and a way forward – we’re only a phone call away.
Please call Care for the Family on (029) 2081 0800 if you’d like us to put you in touch with one of our trained Bereaved Parents’ Network befrienders. All our befrienders have themselves experienced the death of a child. We’ll try our best to put you in touch with someone who has lost a child of a similar age or in similar circumstances.
