Merger means Care for the Family is even more positive about parenting

Care for the Family recently joined forces with Positive Parenting, a charity which has similar aims and ethos in supporting parents in the ups and downs of family life. The merger means even more families will be able to access high quality parenting resources.

Positive Parenting’s parenting courses and resources are already being used in communities around the country. The range of material is well grounded in research and has a practical, common sense and ‘user-friendly’ approach.

It can be used in a variety of settings, including schools, children’s centres, churches, community groups and prisons. To help people make the most of the resources, Positive Parenting also offers training to facilitators of parenting groups.

Tell me more about the training

Are you involved in leading parenting groups? Then Positive Parenting’s four-day training course in facilitating parenting groups is essential for you. This course will equip you with all the skills you need to facilitate a parenting group in your community. You’ll also discover the theory and research behind working effectively with parents.

The course is accredited through the Open College Network (nine credits at Level 3). By the end of the four days you should feel confident to facilitate any mainstream Positive Parenting course. This course also complements Care for the Family’s two-day training to become a licensed facilitator of How to Drug Proof Your Kids® (DPYK) or Quidz In – raising financially confident kids.
