A Day for Bereaved Parents
This Care for the Family day offers understanding, encouragement and support to parents who have suffered the death of a son or daughter in any circumstance and at any age.The worst loss a parent ever has to face is the death of a son or daughter. Children are ‘not supposed to die’. But sometimes they do – and the extent of pain and devastation, even isolation, experienced by parents when a child dies is unimaginable.
At this special day, you'll discover:
- How men and women grieve differently
- Hope for a 'new normal'
- New ways to handle relationships
- Strategies for coping with difficult times
The day will be refreshing, realistic and positive, providing a place for you to begin or continue the healing process. There will be talks on relevant subjects and time to share in a group with others who have experienced a similar loss. Those who would like to will also have an opportunity to talk to someone on an individual basis. The day will be led by Kath and Mike Coulson. They lost their son Philip, then aged seven, in 1994, and know how difficult life can be following bereavement.
Whether your son or daughter died last week, last month, or years ago, if we can help you on the difficult ‘journey’ of grieving, we would love you to join us. If you have ever felt that no-one else understands the pain, heartache and the devastation you feel since your son or daughter died, this day is for you.
