Last month 9 couples preparing for their wedding in 2012 came along to a local town hall to experience for the first time ever on the Isle of Man, Marriage By Design. This one day relationship education experience was facilitated by Adrian and Maddie Porter, volunteers for Care for the Family’s Marriage Network.

Single Parent Family Group - set up recently to provide friendship, support and social activities in a welcoming environment. Care for the Family is delighted to support this group with resources.

Maybe you would consider becoming a volunteer representative, spreading the word and looking for opportunities for the work of Care for the Family to become wider known and more effective in strengthening local family life. It would be a real encouragement to talk more about this type of help.

“Till death us do part.” I wonder how many couples will say those words as they get married during the coming year? Even though the divorce statistics shout otherwise, on our wedding day, at least, most of us truly believe in the promise we make to each other of a permanent commitment.
