‘Marriage in the 21st Century’ is a 30-page academic report by The Centre for Research in Social Policy at Loughborough University. Commissioned by Care for the Family, the report summarises the findings of eight focus groups which included 60 participants from medium/high and low-income households. All couples surveyed had been married for over five years. The purpose of the study was to explore married people’s perceptions of the attitudes and behaviours that helped marriages to last.
