Working with Parents
At Care for the Family we are passionate about supporting families and couples. To equip people for working with parents we have developed essential high quality training.“The trainers have 'earthed' the content and made it relevant, interesting and valuable.”
This 2-day non-residential module is ideal for those in the faith, voluntary and statutory sectors who are working with or hope to work with parents either in groups, formally, informally or in a one to one supportive role.
The training is both practical and interactive looking at key evidence based theories, research and also their practical application when working with adults.

Care for the Family’s range of parenting programmes have been developed to support parents and families. To become a Licensed Facilitator to run our parenting programmes you will need to have completed both this and our Facilitating Groups module**. You will then be licensed to run the Core programmes from the 'Time Out' range (For Parents; Early Years; For Juniors; Teenage Years and For Dads).
For the Specialist programmes you will need to attend a familiarisation day to gain the specialist course licence. (How to Drug Proof Your Kids, Quidz In, Time Out for Parents – Children with Special Needs)

* If you have completed previous training which covers these areas, with a recognised provider, it may not be necessary for you to attend this module. See APL (Approved Prior Learning) information below.
** Please note that to gain a facilitators licence you will also need to complete the Facilitating Groups module. To find dates and details of this course please click here.
We recommend that the Facilitating groups module is completed first but recognize that this is not always possible. Therefore, you can complete the parenting module before completing the facilitating groups module and we will send you your licence once you have successfully completed both.
