Facilitating Groups

Our Facilitating Groups training is designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to work with adult groups.

You will need to complete the Facilitating Groups training in order to become a licensed facilitator to run our Positive Parenting courses.

Our practical, interactive and high quality training will introduce you to small group facilitation skills and enable you to reflect and build on your existing knowledge and practice. It is ideal for working in adult groups in both formal and informal settings.

2-day non-residential training content

  • Principles and theories of group formation and dynamics, and adult learning styles.
  • Selecting strategies and materials to meet the needs of the group.
  • Enabling the effective working of the group.
  • Essential facilitation skills.

Accreditation

Accreditation is an optional extra that is assessed through a written portfolio of work. Your accreditation will give you six credits at Level 3 with the Open College Network.

Training fee

  • Statutory rate: £295.00 including VAT
  • Voluntary/individual rate: £225.00 including VAT
  • Open College Network (OCN) accreditation fee (optional): £120.00

The fee includes lunch and refreshments on both days and a comprehensive manual.

Experience and best practice shows that our parenting courses are most effective when two people work together. So we are pleased that for every place booked, we can offer you a second one at the special rate of £235 (statutory rate) / £180 (voluntary rate) including VAT.

In-house training

Approved Prior Learning

We may be able to approve your prior learning if you have already successfully completed training with a recognised provider. Your training would have to be at a minimum of Level 3 and cover the essential topics in this training course.

Please note

Cancellation of training registration by a delegate should be made as soon as possible in writing or by email. Where notice of cancellation is received 15 days or more before the training start date, a refund may be possible, or transfer to alternate dates. If the participant fails to attend the training, the full training fees are payable.
