So within our Faith in the Family initiative, we want to equip Christian parents to ‘pass on’ faith to their children. We are our children’s biggest influencers – but we often feel ill equipped, or simply don’t know where to start.
“I would love to read the Bible with the boys every night and I start off with good intentions but then a few weeks in it becomes a chore and I have to nag the boys to spend time doing it – they would far rather watch TV.”
“I worry about getting the balance right between encouraging their faith and being so continually focused on it that I put them off completely. I worry that as they grow that I won’t be able to answer their questions.”
“Time seems to have passed terribly quickly and all of a sudden my kids are 10 and 8 and I feel I haven’t done enough to nurture their faith.”
In September 2017 we will be starting a new initiative to support parents in this most important task. There are no guarantees but through building warm family relationships and being intentional about nurturing faith in our children, we can give them the best possible chance.
