Thinking of hosting In the Arena?
If you’re looking to host an event that will have powerful impact on the men in your church, or those on its fringe, In the Arena might be the ideal men’s breakfast or evening seminar.
Care for the Family is able to bring this event to your men’s group at no cost. But we do ask that we are given the opportunity to explain something about the work of Care for the Family and invite your attendees to support us financially.
Whether there are 20 men in your church or 200, we can provide not only a memorable event, but all the promotional aids you need to make sure it’s a sell-out.
Care for the Family has been working with churches, just like yours, to strengthen marriages, support parents and help the bereaved for over 25 years. You can be confident that we know how to deliver great content in an engaging way to your church-based men’s group.
Why is it called In the Arena?
Every man faces challenges. These could be in the area of the workplace, our relationships, and of course our inner or spiritual life. Sometimes these come without warning – it is as if the gloves are off and we are standing in the arena face to face with our enemy.
But the arena is not a good place to learn the art of battle. Those who are wise take time in less pressurised periods to develop strategies, to formulate plans and build up strength for that moment when we will need every ounce of courage, wisdom and spiritual help to overcome the challenge.
This event helps men be ready for those times, and is presented with intriguing topics that include:
Who presents In the Arena?
Gerrit Bantjes is a brilliant communicator. He has been a paratrooper in the British Army and fitness coach to Cardiff Rugby Club, as well as being a loving husband and dad. But most importantly for this event, he brings not just compelling wisdom and stories – but also compassion and an understanding that whether we are young or old, single or married, fulfilled in life or desperate for change – we can gain practical help on our journey together.
Typically, Gerrit will need 60 minutes to present the content of the seminar, which might be delivered either as an after-dinner slot, as the sole content of an evening meeting, or after bacon butties served at a Saturday men’s breakfast.
Depending on the make-up of your audience, Gerrit can adapt the content to be seeker-sensitive, or very faith-assumptive. Prior to agreeing to any booking, we will discuss the church experience of your men’s group with you to make sure we hit the nail on the head!
We can provide you with editable electronic invites, with artwork for facebook, and web banners.
How do I book In the Arena?
We have only a few dates in our calendar each year when we can present the event, so the first step is to complete the details below as fully as you can and we’ll get back to you to discuss it further.
