History tells us that each generation greets new technological advances with caution, and it can take a while for us to overcome the challenges and embrace the change. There was a time when our children were termed ‘digital residents’ and we were only ‘visitors’, whereas now, we all live online.
Whatever digital habits distinguish the generations, as parents and carers, we remain concerned about what our children are doing in the unseen world of technology, and it can be hard to keep up with the fast pace of change.
Seeking to understand the potential impact of the digital world, and being equipped to face the concerns head on, will give us the confidence to develop healthy digital habits together as a family.
Our Parenting in a Digital World content offers a helpful starting point.
We’re in the process of developing a full course for parents, carers, schools and communities to use, which we’re aiming to release in Spring 2027. But we didn’t want to leave you empty-handed until then, so we’re releasing a suite of video content and accompanying PDFs to equip and encourage you as you explore this topic together.
