Additional needs covers so many conditions and situations and there are organisations that offer support for many of them. We hope that you will find this list helpful.

Sibs

A UK charity representing the needs of siblings of disabled people. It offers information and advice for young siblings, adult siblings, parents and professionals.

Through the Roof

A charity that aims ‘to positively influence church and society’ through equipping churches to be more inclusive.

Fledglings

A national charity that finds and sells products that improve the lives of disabled children and their families

Contact a Family

A charity that gives support to the families of disabled children, whatever their condition or disability, through a helpline and information and advice.

ABC

A national organisation that provides personal advice and support to anyone affected by anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and all kinds of eating distress. They support sufferers and their family and friends towards full recovery through befriending, counseling and conferences.

Working Families

A UK based work-life balance organisation. The charity helps working parents and carers and their employers find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work.

The National Autistic Society

A UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families. They provide information and support for people with autism and their carers

The Down Syndrome Association

The association provides clear information and support on all aspects of living with Down Syndrome through research, campaigning, resources and an information helpline

The M.E. Association

A charity that provides information, support and practical advice for people, families and carers affected by M.E. Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome (PVFS). They also fund and support research, and offer education and training.

Erb's Palsy Group

A foundation that gives information and advice on the injury Erb’s Palsy / Obstetrical Brachial Plexus Paralysis and links up parents of children who have Erb’s Palsy.

Scope

A charity providing support for those with cerebral palsy and aims to see disabled people and their families having the same opportunities as everyone else.

Royal National Institute of Blind People

(RNIB) is a leading charity offering information, support and advice for people with sight loss.

Action on Hearing Loss

A charity that provides support for people with hearing loss and tinnitus as well as day-to-day care for people who are deaf and have additional needs.
